The Mewar Dynasty’s historical capital, Udaipur, was founded in the year 1558 by Udai Singh II of the Sisodia clan of Rajputs. Because of its numerous lakes and water reservoirs, it later earned the names “City of Lakes” or “Venice of the East.” In addition, the city is geographically separated from the Thar Desert by the Aravali Ranges. The city features historical sites, royal buildings, palaces, temples, lakes, gardens, and luxury hotels.
