Found in the year 1558 by Udai Singh II of the Sisodia clan of Rajputs, Udaipur was the historic capital of the kingdom of the Mewar Dynasty which later got entitled as the “ City of Lakes “ or “ Venice of East “ because of being surrounded by varied lakes and water reservoirs. The city is also surrounded by the Aravali Ranges which geographically separates it from The Thar Desert - the city exhibits history, royal architecture, palaces, temples, lakes, gardens, art, traditions, culture, food, lifestyle and luxury hotels.

Places To Visit In Udaipur

City Palace

City Palace Udaipur is a beautiful monument that is located on the banks of lake Pichola and has been entitled as the most romantic and famous destination for couples. The splendid architecture of the palace is a testimony to the royal kingdoms of Rajput dynasty - the history and beauty of the palace is a benchmark for many monuments till date and it takes a day to visit all the parts of the palace.Opening hours : 9:30 am to 5:30 pm Cost : INR 30 for adults, INR 15 for children, and INR 200 for camera

Jag Mandir

The Jag Mandir Palace is built on the island in Lake Pichola and is widely known for its beautiful interiors, grand style of architecture and the intricate sculptures on the marbles are key attractions of this place apart from the mesmerising view of the lake from the palace. You can enjoy evening boat rides in the lake and click some beautiful memories to take back home. Lake Pichola

One of the most magnificent tourist destinations to visit, the setting of the lake will take you into a surreal movie-like environment with four islands to visit :- Jag Mandir, Mohan Mandir, Jag Niwas and Arsi Villas. Saheliyon ki Bari

The Monsoon Palace

Also known as the Sajjangarh Palace, this royal architecture is a hilltop palatial residence built by Maharana Sajjan Singh of the Mewar Dynasty. The fort was built to watch the monsoon clouds floating by while offering panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and sunsets at distance. The palace is in close proximity to the Sajjangarh Wildlife sanctuary and is usually a one day trek from the palace.
